Welcome to My Projects!
This is the space where I showcase my photographic journey, featuring past and current projects that hold meaning and tell visual stories.
Current Project: Echoes of the Past: Aberdeen’s Silent Sanctuaries
Echoes of the Past is an intimate visual exploration of Aberdeen’s sacred resting places, a journey into the city’s quiet time capsules where memories and history are etched in stone. Through deliberate compositions and thoughtful detail, this project seeks to reveal the haunting beauty of weathered tombstones, sculptural statues, and nature’s gentle reclamation of ancient markers. Each image becomes a meditation on loss, remembrance, and the inexorable passage of time, inviting viewers to listen to the quiet stories whispered from these silent sanctuaries.
In capturing these scenes, I endeavour not only to document physical decay but also to celebrate the resilience and dignity embedded within each relic. Echoes of the Past is a homage to heritage and memory, a personal dialogue with Aberdeen’s historical soul that calls on us to pause, reflect, and appreciate the quiet beauty of imperfection and the enduring legacy of lives long passed.
This project is ongoing, and I’ll be sharing updates as it unfolds. Here are some posts on the churches as I visit them:-

Echoes of the Past: Aberdeen’s Silent Sanctuaries
a deep dive into the forgotten corners of Aberdeen’s cemeteries, a visual journey that uncovers the sculptural beauty and poignant history etched into these sacred spaces.
Through evocative compositions, this series captures the interplay of light, stone, and nature, breathing life into the stories and legacies held within these tranquil, timeless sanctuaries. Each frame reflects a dialogue between memory and impermanence, inviting viewers to rediscover the quiet power of heritage and loss.

Aberdeen Ruins and Decay
Aberdeen’s crumbling corners and decayed structures hold a quiet, rugged beauty, telling stories of time, resilience, and the inevitable interplay between nature and neglect. In Aberdeen Ruins and Decay, I aim to explore these forgotten and weathered sites, where peeling paint, overgrown vines, and rusted iron meet the grey tones of granite and the soft light of Scotland’s skies.
This project will uncover the textures and tones of decline while celebrating the character and history embedded within these ruins.

Bridges Between Eras
Bridges Between Eras explores Aberdeen’s historical bridges as symbols of connection across time and space. This project captures their architectural significance and the evolving urban landscapes surrounding them.
From ancient stone arches to modern constructions, each frame offers a dialogue between past ingenuity and present progress, highlighting the seamless transition of eras that shape the city’s character. Through thoughtful compositions, this series invites viewers to reflect on the stories these bridges carry and the history they span.
